Still waiting for the frames for the panniers to come from Perth.  Spent the day getting bits and pieces sorted out, like to register a vehicle is Australia we need a customer number.  Got told we needed to have out names with an Australian address, so went and opened a bank account saying we were moving to Australia.  Got the account opened and a piece of paper with our names on with an address in Mt "Cotton.  Next job was to find the QLD Transport Service to get our customer  number, walked in there and there were about 50 people sitting in rows on chairs, waiting to register cars, go for driving licences and registering cars.  Made our enquiries, we needed 3 forms of identification each and to fill out a form, was given a number chit for our turned to be called to one of 15 counters. Didn't need our bit of paper from the bank afterall.  Got our customer numbers written on a piece of paper, then it was back to the bike shop.  They are now registered in our names. 


4th April
Still no pannier racks arrived, got a few more things sorted like getting spare tubes, puncture repair kit, a hand pump, Australian sim card for phone, pocket Wifi modem, big map of Australia.  Tomorrow we need to pick the bikes up pannier racks or not as the rental car goes back, but it is the long weekend and we hope to get on the road, so heres hoping
