Not
so much riding today but what there was was the best road so far,
coming from Batemans Bay to Braidwood over Clyde Mountain, beautiful
road. So much for no kangaroos on this road, I counted 5 kangaroos
dead, 4 wombats and a fox, wouldn't want to hit any of those.
Another unusual thing was big teddy bears hanging in the eucalyptus
trees, heaps of them all along the Kings Highway, blue ones, red
ones, white ones. Stopped in Braidwood which is a heritage listed town and the first complete town to be listed on the NSW State Heritage Register. Then stopped in Bungendore at a Cafe Gallery for a morning coffee.
Visited the National Australia War Museum which
covers all the wars Australia has been involved in. Stopping the night in Queanbeayn in New South Wales, which is right on the border with Australia Capital Territory.
Here is their spirit, in the heart of the land they loved; and here we guard the record which they themselves made.Charles Bean, 1948
